FAQ’s

 

  • Your title is Minister, does that mean you only do religious weddings?
    • No. I officiate weddings for all religions as well as non-religious ceremonies 
  • Ceremony types 
    • Religious Ceremony focusing on your specific religion (s) or an interfaith ceremony if the ceremony will be interfaith.
    • Spiritual- Still religious in nature, doesn’t focus on one particular deity or belief. Acknowledges a higher power. Good for non-denominational
    • Civil/Secular-  No religion or spiritual elements. The ceremony can still be “traditional. Good for those who don’t identify as religious, don’t believe in higher powers, or don’t engage in religious behaviors 
  • Will you officiate my specific wedding?

                    I will officiate the following ceremonies:

  • All religions (see list below)
  • Spiritual
  • Same-sex
  • Handfasting
  • Wiccan
  • cosplay
  • Interfaith
  • Themed 
  • etc. 
  • I’m not Christian. Will you officiate my wedding?

                   All religions are welcome

  • Agnostic, Anglican, Atheist, Baha’i Faith, Baptist, Buddhist, Catholic, Earth-Based, Episcopalian, Evangelical, Hindu, Islam, Jainism, Jewish, Lutheran, Methodist, Mormon, No Denomination, Orthodox Christian, Pagan, Presbyterian, Quaker, Shinto, Sikhism, Taoist, Unitarian, Interfaith
  • Will you help us obtain our marriage license? 
    • If you are in Caddo Parish, contact 318-226-6789
  • How long is the marriage license valid for?
    • When applying for your marriage license you must do so at least 24 hours before the ceremony. The marriage license is valid for 30 days from the date it was issued. 
  • Does my marriage license have to be used in Shreveport only?
    • The license may be used in any parish in the state.
  • Will I  have input in the ceremony, and will I be allowed to review the ceremony beforehand?
    • Yes 
  • Are you willing to marry us at a nonreligious site?
    • Yes. I will officiate in a formal setting such as event centers and banquet halls, in religious settings churches, synagogues, temples, etc, and outdoor venues. Informal settings such as homes and state parks. 
  • Are you open to personalized vows, readings, poems or music?
    • Personalized vows, readings and poems can only be added to customizable/personalized wedding packages. 
    • Vows or readings that you provide can always be added no matter the package.
    • Music is always welcome
  • Are you available on my date and legally able to perform a marriage in the state/country where we will have the wedding?
    • Feel free to contact me regarding my availability for your chosen date. 
  • How long have you been a minister /officiant? 
    • 7 years
  • Are witnesses required?
    • Yes, 2 witnesses age 18 or older are required in the state of Louisiana
  • Do you officiate Vow Renewals?
    • Yes. I officiate Vow Renewals, Micro weddings, elopements, etc.
  • We don’t want a ceremony. We only need the marriage license signed. Can you do that?
    • Yes
